It is not easy to stamp ‘Worst’ or ‘Best’ without having a credible judgment criteria and a viable boundary in selection.
The fact is more evident in an article ’10 Worst Nepali Websites’ compiled by ‘A website designer, a nascent creative writer, a dreamer, an achiever, a go-getter’ Swapnil Acharya.
I had a few questions for Swapnil:
- How did he determine which website is Nepali and which is not?
- Does he know how many Nepali website are there?
- What is the criteria for a website to be ‘worst’ or ‘best’? Is it only the design? or is it a user interactivity? What about the content? Are you sure, you can judge every aspects of websites. If you can’t how can you write a ‘general’ heading?
- Are the 40% (how come?) under construction sites better than the sites he reviewed?
- Did you evaluate kguff.com ?
Now, let me post a couple of screen shots of his site here. I just wanted to show: if you want to judge somebody else, you better look at yourself first.
You can see there are 3 ‘Labels’ each having the same thing. Does that qualify your site to be one of the “Worst Nepali Websites”?
In my opinion, if somebody wants to judge something they have to have some selection criteria first. Then the judgment criteria and the most important, judgment credibility.
I can’t just walk around New Road some day, and choose the most beautiful girl around, and award the Miss Nepal crown!

Ha ha. I totally love this post.
Humm, I agree what you mention about labelling something as “worst”. Negativeness touches human emotions more than positiveness. Thats why you must be going gaga about his post.
However, the last line where you mention about awarding Miss Nepal, isn’t it possible? Just think that you have the best Nepali female in your opinion infront of you, someone whos smarter than anyone you’ve ever met. Wouldn’t you want to crown her Miss Nepal?
There is a huge difference between saying “10 best” and “10 worst”, not just in terms of judgement, but the happiness it spreads.
Cheers
Interesting guff ….: )
OMG !
I Love the response it got … Thanks guys!
@Gaurav,
Your ‘truck door literature’ is going to be stolen and posted here one day! … hoping you won’t mind.
@Bibek, yes I agree. Love should spread but hate should be contained!
Crowning ‘Miss Nepal’ would make at least two people happy – the judge and the winner!
@Swapnil, Do you?
Thanks! You made me happier. I would still love at least one ‘Labels’ for a better navigation.
I am very interested to know the reason why everybody thanked me for writing the “Best” websites and I’m getting this silly pointless criticism for this particular post.
Nevertheless, thanks for sparking this conversation. I’m glad we’re talking about this.
